Eyelash extensions are made from
"artificial hair specially designed for eyelash extensions”.
Material of artificial eyelash:
Polybutylene terephthalate (PBT)
This is the mainstream material for artificial eyelashes today. Artificial eyelashes are curled by heating and drying them for a certain time in a special machine.
PBT has excellent shape memory and, if processed with the proper technique, will not deform for a long time and has excellent chemical resistance.
For example, if we recall a familiar product to us all, toothbrushes.
In our salon we use all PBT artificial lashes.
It is rare, but let's see what other materials are used.
Other materials in rare circulation:
Polyethylene terephthalate (PET)
Often referred to as polyethylene, this material is used in plastic bottles.
Polyvinyl chloride (PVC)
This material is often used for hair extensions and wigs.
It deforms easily at relatively low temperatures.
Animal hair (animal hair, protein)
Mink, sable, fox, squirrel, etc.
Due to their natural material, they vary in length, curl and thickness, which makes them difficult to use and, from an animal protection point of view, they are rarely used.
Human hair (hair, protein)
This is a processed form of human hair used mainly for hair extensions. As animal hair and human hair are proteins, it is generally possible to judge the material by the particular smell it gives off when burnt.
What did you expect?
Artificial eyelashes come in many different product names. For example, silk, mink, sable, etc. All of these materials are usually made of PBT. However, there are many salons, practitioners and consumers who misinterpret these trade names as "material names".
